My Story

I am going to be telling you about a real life thing that happened to me.
Then I am going to tell you a fictional take on that event made by Colin.

I woke up this morning when the lights turned on in my room.  My muscles were aching because of my tiring activities from last night.  I smelled something sour.  When I rolled over I realized I was at the edge of my bed and almost fell off.  I pushed myself up and looked outside.  It was dark so I knew it was before seven o’clock. I needed to get up because my bus leaves at 7:40.  As I got out of bed I heard the click of alight switch.  I saw my sister get out of bed.  Once I was dressed I went to the living room, one floor down from my bedroom.  I smelled eggs so I looked into the kitchen.  I saw my dad making scrambled eggs and heard them sizzle.  I sat down and started thinking about which book I would bring to school.  My dad put out a waffle, honey yogurt and a tall glass of water at my sister’s spot.  At my spot he put a cinnamon bun, key lime yogurt and a tall glass of water.  Just before I finished breakfast I checked the time.  It was only 6:49.  I was surprised.  While my dad brushed the fluffy snow off his car I went out to help.    Then I realized that I took the bus.  I panicked.  Quickly I grabbed my black book bag and sprinted for the bus stop.

Next is the fictional tale based on my real life experience:

The Day I Missed the Bus

I woke up this morning to the sound of the bus leaving.  I thought to myself, “On No.  I missed my bus.”  Well, that sucks because both of my parents work and I live 100 miles away from school.  On the bright side, no school.

The first thing I did was eat breakfast.  Then the fun started.  I jumped on the couch and grabbed my computer.  I tried to start it but it ran out of battery.  TV is my back up plan.  I turned on the TV but it was acting weird.  I guess the storm from last night cut the cable.  Well, I’ll play on my ipad mini.  Oh wait, I took it to the shop yesterday and it has to stay for two weeks for repairs.

Oh, the electronics didn’t work that day.  I decided to go outside and play in the snow.  It was so fun until I realized I had locked myself out.  I thought, “Oh no, I am stuck outside in the cold.  How could this day get any worse?”  Trust me, it did.

I tried going to my neighbours.  Fail.  I tried breaking into my own house.  Fail.  Just before I tried to bury myself, my mom came.  I was so glad.  She saved me.  I told her what happened and she forgave me right away.

Congratulations! You are insane. But you are also somebody that I want to talk to.

What if I told you that I had a pickle jar that is 100 meters high filled with pickles that are 50 meters high? You would say that It’s crazy. But then why would I be posting this ad?

For 3 easy payments of $999.00 you can own the whole jar full of pickles. I would say that you are in a pickle if you don’t have that much! Imagine what you can do with that many pickles. You can eat them, climb them, even make a house with them. And once you are finished with the pickles you can bathe or swim in the pickle juice. And if you swim deep enough you will find 3 25 meters high pickled garlic in there.

My Interests

Normally when you ask people about their interests they say stuff like, “I like video games” or “I like reading” etc. Unlike those people I’m going to explain my interests. My first interest is martial arts. One of my favourite martial arts is called Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or BJJ. BJJ is sort of like wrestling but a lot cooler and more fun. You get to do chokes and other submissions. They use BJJ in the UFC too. I compete in lots of Martial Arts tournaments and sometimes win medals for BJJ, both with a gi and with just a pair of shorts and t-shirt on.

My second interest is Lego. It is very fun to build and, when you are done building a set; it is fun take it apart and build something different and unique. It is also fun to shoot Lego guys and Lego buildings with NERF guns.

That brings me to my next interest, NERF guns. NERF gun wars are really fun. Especially if you don’t add rules like, “you can’t get hit more than once or twice.” It is more fun that way so the first people to get hit aren’t’ just sitting there until there is just one person or team left.

My next interest is reading. Reading is amazing because you can imagine your own world and connect with characters that aren’t just on TV. Reading is like listening to other people’s imagination or ideas and it’s very fun are rewarding. After I have read a thick, time consuming book or series I feel happy and excited because I just made a huge accomplishment. My favourite types of books are mythology and fantasy books like Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, The Hobbit, and Lord of the Rings.

Finally, my last interest is the French horn. I love playing the French horn because I’ve like the sound of it ever since I was a little kid. I heard the French horn being played for the first time in kindergarten. Its sound was amazing to me. Now I’m getting taught the French horn by the greatest teacher ever and I can play songs like “We Will Rock You” and “Danger Zone” on it.

I think you should try BJJ because it’s so fun and all the other sports are over rated so you should try it. Is BJJ a good sport for you? Think about that while I get a burger. Burp! That was a good burger.
